Library/Information Learning Centre

Mrs Marlo Campbell
Learning Centre Co-ordinator

The Nagle College Library/Information Learning Centre is open all school days from 8.00 am, including recess and lunchtime. The Library has an extensive fiction section supporting the College Reading Program, as well as a large non-fiction collection which supports the College curriculum.

All Nagle College students are issued with a Library Card.  This Library Card is requried for entering the Library, for borrowing books and resources, and for photocopying in the Library. It should be kept in a safe place (the Student Diary is ideal) and taken to school every day.

Homework/Study Centre

Nagle College operates a homework/study centre in the Library after school on Thursday. This ensures that all students have equitable access to resources, staff assistance and the internet for their academic development. Not all students have adequate internet access from their homes, nor do all students have access to a computer, scanner or printer from their homes. Many students require extra assistance, especially with assignment work. By providing these resources here at school we hope to alleviate some fo the pressures on busy home lives.
  • the Study Centre is open every Thursday afternoon from 3.25 to 4.45 pm
  • fully supervised with staff available for assistance
  • all Library resources are available including computers, internet, photocopier, scanner and printer

The College provides a free bus which departs from the bus area at 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday. This bus transports students to the town centre where they can then access ongoing public transport to Lakes Entrance or Paynesville, or be collected by a parent/guardian.

2010 - Creation of the New Learning Centre

This is a large refurbished building consisting of two computer labs, two study rooms for Senior Students, a silent reading area with soft furnishing, research classroom with laptops in a cow and computers.  Four hubs with twelve computers and diverse range of books for our students to learn from.

Nagle College encourages all students to become members of the East Gippsland Shire Council Library (a free and informative educational service).
