Aislin Wins Junior World Cup

Congratulations to Year 12 Bosco student, Aislin Jones, on her recent Gold Medal performance at the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Sydney in late March.

In this international event leading up to the Commonwealth Games, Aislin won the event and also claimed two world records on her way. She now holds the Qualifying Junior World Record of 117/125, which was previously held by Aislin on 106/125; the second record was the Finals Junior World Record of 51/60, previously held by Katrina Jacobs of the USA on 48/60 at the World Championships.

We also congratulate Aislin for her excellent performance in the Commonwealth Games held in the Gold Coast recently. Aislin had the largest support group of any of the shooters including Ms Louise Kelly and family members, who all shouted loudly and proudly! Aislin qualified in second place for the finals of the Women's Skeet event, having scored 71/75 which included a perfect round of 25/25. Unfortunately Aislin went out in the first round, finishing in sixth place. Being sixth in the Commonwealth is an amazing effort - we commend Aislin on her successes to date.
