Annual Music Concert 2019

On Tuesday 10 September, students across all year level performed in Nagle College's Annual Music Concert, with what was likely the most students ever performing.

All bands focus towards this one common event and rehearsals with this in mind begin from the start of Term 3. It is a special, unique opportunity for parents and families to witness their child’s involvement in our music program. Parents regularly hear home practice and often comment that it is wonderful to hear the final ‘band’ result at a concert.  As many students overlap in various bands they can become very busy as all groups refine their performance.

The concert showcased bands and ensembles that all stem from our Instrumental Music Program. An exciting highlight of this year was the ‘Combined Concert Band Performance’ which showcased all members of the Next Generation, Intermediate and Senior Concert Bands overflowing the stage as they joined together for the 1950’s hit ‘Rock Around the Clock’. This occurred after only one combined rehearsals – putting the musical puzzle together was exciting and well received by the musicians and audience.

Over the past few years the band program has built in numbers and it was ‘notable’ to realize the wonderful group of students who are now learning Brass and Woodwind instruments. After months of rehearsing all students performed very well on the night. Well done, it was a great effort by all involved.

Nagle Music is fortunate to have dedicated music teachers and tutors who encourage and prepare the students in developing their music skills. Thank you to all of the teachers and tutors for their constant effort and expertise.
