ANZAC Gift

Polding girls were all smiles after taking out the 2015 ANZAC Gift.

Each year the ANZAC Gift is run during lunchtime following the ANZAC Service held at Nagle College. Due to an extremely wet track, this year's Gift was postponed to Wednesday 6 May. In ideal conditions the Houses battled it out in this fast paced relay event. Polding took out the shield in the girls' event with a winning time of 6:59 minutes. Team members were Kate Wickfeldt, Courtney Walker, Jayme Waites, Isabelle McArthur, Claire Hammond and Emmagyn Williams.

Avila boys hung on to finish first in a very tightly contested event.

In the boys' event the Avila team held off a very fast finishing Polding boys, winning the event in 5:25 minutes. Avila team members were Sam Parwata, Alex Crowe, Ryan Pedretti, Corey Timms, Jude Taylor and Tiley Timms.

The ANZAC Gift is a relay event. Each House has six runners who run 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 metres each. Apart from winning the Gift Shield, points are earned towards the House Sports Shield which is presented at the end of the year. Congratulations to both Polding and Avila Houses on their success.
