Life’s a Picnic

Running a business at Picnic Point Farm is a family affair for the Baldwins. Siblings Sally (Class of 2005), David (Class of 2003) and John (Class of 2007) Baldwin are kept busy all year round with their orchards. They produce apples for the local markets, as well as apples for juicing which is sold locally. The introduction of raspberries, blackberries and cherries in recent years has added another dimension to the growing business.

Sally, together with John's wife Krestabelle, manage the marketing of the Picnic Point Farm, whilst David and John take care of the day-to-day management of the orchards. The orchards now includes a range of apple varieties such as Pink Lady, Fuji, Granny Smith, Cox, Jonagold, Sundownder and Gravensteins.

The Baldwin siblings are well supported by parents Reg and Mary Baldwin, who established the Picnic Point Orchard in 1984. Mary taught mathematics at Nagle College from 2008 until her retirement in 2017.
