NAGLE STUDENTS SIT PRESTIGIOUS SCIENCE EXAM

Five Nagle College students (Min Min Bao, Hannah Martin, Tilly Alvin, Kelsey Cutriss and James Allender) were selected to sit the Australian Science Olympiad Exams. The Australian Science Olympiads give top performing science students in Years 10 and 11 the opportunity to further their knowledge and challenge themselves on a national level.

Four Exam categories are offered: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environment and Physics. Students, if selected, are able to write multiple exams and are tested on: scientific concepts and their application in contemporary contexts, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and skill of scientific inquiry.

The top performing 100 students from this exam were invited to participate a 15-day program at the Australian National University in Canberra this January. During this program teams of students are selected to represent Australia at the International Science Olympiads.

While none of our students were selected for the Science Program in Canberra over the holidays, they will be presented with a certificate of achievement and should be proud of having been selected to write this exam.
