The partnership Eco Warriors has forged with G.L.M.A.C has resulted in a nomination of Andrea Savage for a Victorian Coastal Award for Excellence. This event will be held at the National Gallery in Melbourne on Thursday September 11. Andrea will accompany members of G.L.M.A.C. who have been nominated for their work in the Love our Lakes program.

Year 9 Eco Warriors from Mrs Savage and Ms Preston's classes, mentored eight primary school classes from six local schools on the importance of seagrass in the Gippsland Lakes. The Eco Warriors later spent a day on an Eco Cruise, launched by Tim Bull and televised where science experts led workshops on climate change impacts on the Lakes system, Seabird ecology, and the ecology of the local Dolphin species.
