Nagle College is a dynamic, hope-filled learning community, pursuing personal excellence and self discovery through education for all students in a nurturing Catholic community in the Salesian tradition. (College Vision Statement, 2007)

Pastoral Care at Nagle College is modelled on the Salesian tradition:

A school that welcomes, with genuine friendliness concern and a sense of community
A school that strives for educational excellence
A school with an active presence of staff that encourages and supports students
A school that proudly expresses it’s identity in the Catholic tradition through its celebrations and witnessing of Gospel values
Faithful to the tradition of Saint John Bosco, the Salesian school community is constantly challenged to re-interpret and re-enliven his educational vision in every generation and circumstance, according to the requirements of the contemporary situation and the needs of young people, whom he once said: “I have only one wish: that you be happy in this world and the next”.   (Salesian Leaders Conference, 2003)

The Pastoral System underpins all academic and co-curricular programs at Nagle College. It embodies all aspects of the concern for each student in the school. It is reflected in the attention given to students’ academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

The Pastoral System emphasizes the development and nurturing of a strong positive relationship between staff and students. This is manifested by a personal approach, which is gentle, firm and reasonable. It involves mutual respect and a genuine concern for each person.

Most importantly our approach to Pastoral Care seeks to provide the support necessary to assist in the Christian formation of all young people at the College, as we endeavour to help each individual live the College motto Luceat Lux Vestra - Let Your Light Shine.
