Nagle College is one of 133 schools in Australia participating in the Monash Scholars Program which is open to high achieving students in Year 10. Students accepted into the program are supported in a personal and academic capacity from Year 10 until they graduate in Year 12.

“I am very excited to have been selected to participate in the Monash Scholars Program. I am looking forward to having the chance to meet other students from across the state,” said Jessica.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to get help with my senior studies in order to achieve my best. This program will also provide me a chance to experience a city university environment to assist with the transition from a rural school," said Brendan.

Jessica, Brylee and Brendan are expected to commit 20 hours each year to the program, mainly by attending events that will be held each year until they graduate. Sessions in 2021 include team building, preparing for Year 11 and 12, and ‘what it takes to be a…' where they can meet with professionals from a specific discipline. Student can also have one-on-one phone calls with a Monash advisor at any time.

“As I am interested in Law, Business and Education fields, the course will offer me assistance in deciding which University Degree will suit me best,” Jessica said. “I think the course will be a great chance to gain an insight into University life and learn more about the opportunities available to me.”

"The Monash Scholars Program will provide me with opportunities over the next few years to learn what it takes to become a doctor. We also get to explore the pathways to achieve a particular career," said Brendan. "I am looking forward to meeting other scholars and participating in interactive and online activities. I look forward to what my future holds."

Nagle College congratulates Jessica, Brylee and Brendan and hopes they take advantage of every opportunity presented to them.
