The outcomes were impressive for the 99 students studying the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the 15 students studying the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). All students successfully completed these certificates gaining recognition for their work and effort. The 2022 Year 12 students are now looking forward to moving towards the next chapter of life and taking opportunities giving them access to a wide range of options.

“It was pleasing that 10% of students achieved an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) above 80. These scores were backed up by the whole student population with 76% achieving an ATAR over 50,” said Nagle College Principal, Mr Neville Powles.

Nagle College is always looking to enhance student performance by giving them every opportunity to achieve their best, and students have certainly made the most of those opportunities. Nagle College students have traditionally found successful pathways in further education, training and employment once they finish secondary schooling – and the 2022 group can look forward confidently to taking up offers to secure their future options.

Keira O’Neill was congratulated on being the VCE dux of Nagle College for 2022. She achieved an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 98.65. We are delighted for Keira who achieved a perfect study score of 50 in both Health and Human Development and in Psychology. Keira is looking forward to an exciting 2023 where she plans to take a gap year working as a lifeguard. She then hopes to pursue a university degree in Exercise Sports Science and Nutrition Science.

Nagle was pleased to see many students achieve study scores over 40 across a range of subjects including Chemistry, History: Revolutions, Religion and Society, Further Mathematics, and Physical Education

A significant group of Nagle students completed their Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) certificates this year, which was pleasing to see. Students who have been undertaking applied learning programs through VCAL have achieved outstanding outcomes with many students gaining full time employment, apprenticeships and traineeships.

Mr Powles congratulated Chelsea Beechey who was the dux of the VCAL cohort. Students are being offered apprenticeships and local employers are pleased to employ Nagle College students. An engaging and challenging applied learning program has prepared the students and equipped them with the skills to make an effective transition into the workplace.

It is a wonderful achievement to complete Year 12 in 2022 and Nagle College thanks the families for their ongoing support and the wonderful educators who have worked tirelessly to help every one of their students embody the school motto, “Let your light shine”.
